Permian Radiator Service and Supply, LLC was originally established in 1967 as Ken’s Radiator Service and Supply.  LB Tippy bought the business from Ken Ward in 1980.  In July of 1980 Jim Tippy went to work for his father LB.  Jim worked for the business for several years and eventually bought the shop from his father in 1992.  During the last 5 years of Jim’s ownership, Darby Vaughn maintained an ever increasing role as Jim’s right-hand man.  In late 2008 it was Jim Tippy’s desire to sell the business.  At this time Darby bought the business and changed the name to Permian Radiator Service and Supply, LLC.

Darby Vaughn has over 36 years of experience in the radiator and oil field industries.  He is a well-liked individual who selflessly volunteers and contributes to the greater good of the community.  He plans to maintain and expand on the successes of the local radiator shop by upholding the values the shop has became known for.  Future plans include building a new state-of-the-art facility to better serve the Permian Basin.  The business has been located at 1518 W. Broadway, Hobbs for the last 43 years.
